Lets Get The Party Started
(No, Not You Pink)

I wanted to get this music blog started correctly and the only way I can do that is to take you back to when I was 12 or 13. I believe it was circa 1986 and this was the first time I heard of a group from Manchester called New Order. It was an album called Brotherhood that got me into really liking this band. I played the tape for days and days and yes, I did say tape. CD’s were still coming into fruition, so a CD Player was too costly for me to purchase.

After Brotherhood, New Order released Substance in 1987. That my friends was a magical delicious album. At the time, I would have to say New Order was a pretty innovative group. They created many great tracks and were very popular in the dance clubs. If you want to hear them, just click on that video above. The song is called The Perfect Kiss (Fac 321), and the video was directed by Jonathan Demme. Yeah, he’s the guy who directed Silence of the Lambs.

Now rumor has it, and I don’t know if was planned or not, but the guy standing in the doorway with the bright shining light from heaven behind him was suppose to represent Ian Curtis. I guess It was like he was watching them from beyond and enjoying the grooves or something.
